Ignit is in more legal trouble — and not just in Johnston

The landlord of Ignit Sports & Fitness has filed a lawsuit against the Grimes gym, which already faces a suit from the city of Johnston over its stalled plan to build an indoor sports complex there.

Prairie Business Park II LLC in the March 26 suit alleges Ignit owes more than $2.8 million in unpaid rent and is responsible for property damage at the facility where it operates Ignit Sports & Fitness at 200 SE 37th St., Suite 100. Brothers Chad and Brian O’Meara, the owners of Ignit, also are named as defendants in the suit.

The business park is seeking alleged past due rent and the rent owed for the remainder of the gym’s lease, plus 18% interest, as well as a yet-to-be-calculated amount for the property damage beyond normal wear and tear…
