Attorneys for suspect in Ashley Okland’s murder case challenge phone search warrant

DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa (KCCI) – Attorneys for the woman charged with first-degree murder in the 2011 death of Iowa realtor Ashley Okland are asking a judge to throw out a search warrant for her phone, KCCI reports.

53-year-old Kristin Ramsey is charged with first-degree murder in Okland’s death. Okland was fatally shot on April 8, 2011, while holding an open house for a home she was selling in West Des Moines.

On Monday, Ramsey’s attorneys filed a notice of supplemental authority, citing a recent Iowa Supreme Court ruling regarding the City of Davenport to argue that the state is prohibited from reviewing attorney-client privileged messages…
