Des Moines murder suspect apprehended in Chicago

DES MOINES, Iowa — A suspect wanted for murder in Des Moines has been found in Chicago.

The Des Moines Police Department has been searching for Davian Lindsey, 28, in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of Daniel Lott Sr., 45. On March 22, the DMPD responded to a report of a shooting in the 3600 block of Kennedy Drive. Responding officers located Lott inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound; despite life-saving measures, he died from his injuries.

According to the DMPD, it’s believed that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Lindsey and Lott.

Police said Lindsey fled from the scene before officers arrived, and an arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued. Roughly a week after the shooting, the DMPD requested the public’s help in locating Lindsey.

On Wednesday, a month after the shooting, the DMPD announced that Lindsey had been found in Chicago and taken into custody. The DMPD said that it’s working to return Lindsey to Des Moines…
