A year after being diagnosed with leukemia, 15-year-old Joshua Smith is welcoming a new friend into his life. Make-A-Wish Iowa capped its annual Riverbend Gala by granting the organization’s 5,000th wish — a new puppy for Joshua Smith.
“Amazing. I love her. I’m so happy that I got to get her tonight,” Joshua Smith said.
