1 injured following 4 separate overnight shooting incidents, Des Moines police say

DES MOINES, Iowa — One person was injured in one of four gunfire incidents overnight Sunday to Monday, the Des Moines Police Department said.

DMPD received the first report just after 10 p.m. Sunday and the last just after midnight. The four incidents took place near:

  • Watrous Avenue & Southwest 3rd Street, in south Des Moines
  • Grandview Avenue & East 13th Street, in the Union Park neighborhood
  • Melbourne Drive & Southeast 14th Street, in south Des Moines
  • Arlington Avenue & Clark Street, in the River Bend neighborhood

Officers recovered over 20 shell casings during the investigations.

DMPD said one injury was reported. A 28-year-old man walked into a business on 2nd Avenue asking for help after being shot in the leg. Officers determined he was shot in the Clark Street incident, which police believe was a domestic dispute. His injury is not life-threatening, police said…
