INDIANOLA, Iowa — A vehicle crashed into a healthcare clinic in Indianola on Tuesday morning.
At around 8:30 a.m., the Indianola Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into the UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine located in the 300 block of E Hillcrest Avenue. According to the IPD, the driver, a 77-year-old man, was attempting to park his vehicle when the crash occurred.
“We were all just doing business as normal, and then we just heard a loud crash, loud bang, and all of us came running and seen a car in our building,” Adriana Mapes, clinic administrator for the clinic, said.

Mapes said staff at the clinic went outside and helped the driver of the vehicle, who reportedly told them that the floor mat got stuck under the accelerator, preventing him from braking in time. No injuries were reported, according to Mapes.
An estimate for the damage caused by the crash is unknown at this time, but Mapes said that a company will be assessing the damage and patching it up temporarily later in the day. The clinic will remain open…
