CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Minnesota farmhand pleaded guilty in federal court to stealing cattle from his employer and selling them across state lines.
Lawrence “Larry” Patrick Burns, 48 of Eitzen, MN, was convicted of one count of transportation of stolen livestock. Burns worked as a farmhand in Minnesota from at least October 2017 to March 2024.
According to a plea agreement, a farmer directed Burns to transport cattle and grain to various locations in Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri as part of his job. Without the farmer’s knowledge, Burns loaded extra cattle and grain and sold them under his own name…
