OAK PARK – The City of Oak Park is inviting community members to join city officials on Monday at the grand opening of Oakland County’s newest park, Oak Park Woods.
Located on the northern 17 acres of David H. Shepherd Park, at Northfield Boulevard and Church Street, the newly renovated space features a fully refurbished playground and play areas; more gathering space and seating including a picnic shelter, updated pavilion and warming kitchen; redeveloped green space, a new restroom building and more.
City and Oakland County Parks officials sought input from residents in 2023 for the park’s preliminary design.
