Michigan study uncovers gene that could lower colorectal cancer risk

Researchers in Detroit say they have identified a naturally occurring genetic variant that appears to lower the risk of colorectal cancer.

The study, led by scientists at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University, found that about 14% of people carry the gene.
