The Taylor Police Department is warning of a recent phone scam in which callers pose as law enforcement officers or court officials, claiming you have missed jury duty or that there is a warrant for your arrest.
“The scammers often use fear and urgency to pressure victims into sending money immediately using Bitcoin, Cash App, gift cards, Zelle, Venmo, or other electronic payment methods,” police said in a statement.
