The Jamie Daniels Foundation will host an unforgettable night of laughter, community, and purpose at its signature fundraising event, the 2026 Celebrity Roast of Chris Osgood, three-time Stanley Cup champion and Detroit Red Wings legend, on Saturday, August 29, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel (2901 Grand River Ave. in Detroit). Now in its fifth year, the event, hosted by longtime Detroit sportscaster John Keating, will support the nonprofit’s mission of helping young people and families across Michigan prevent and overcome substance use disorder by supporting collegiate recovery initiatives, school-based education programs, compassionate clinical care and parent resources.
Jamie Daniels, son of Lisa Daniels-Goldman and Ken Daniels, Detroit Red Wings play-by-play announcer,
died tragically 10 years ago on Dec. 7, 2016, at the age of 23, after ingesting a lethal dose of a synthetic opioid that included a mix of heroin laced with fentanyl seven months into his recovery journey. Out of their unimaginable loss, Jamie’s parents founded the Jamie Daniels Foundation two years later in 2018 to ensure Jamie’s legacy will be defined through helping others with substance use disorder know they don’t have to face this challenge alone…
