A Huron Township senior citizen lost $12,500 in a “grandparent scam,” in which a phone caller claims to be a grandchild in need of immediate help.
A 90-year-old township resident told police that a man called his phone and represented himself as a lawyer. The caller told the senior that his granddaughter had been arrested and needed money to get out of jail.
