Warren man sentenced to 22-50 years in fatal shooting of housemate

WARREN, Mich. – A 21-year-old Warren man was sentenced last week to 22-50 years in prison for the fatal shooting of his 63-year-old housemate last fall.

A Macomb County jury found Kayvon Briscoe Hall guilty on July 15 of second-degree murder and felony firearm charges after deliberating for less than two hours following a five-day trail.

Prosecutors say Hall engaged in a “senseless act of violence” when he shot Roger Willie, of Warren, inside a home they shared on Oct. 2, 2025. When police arrived, Willie was unresponsive on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds.
