LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Lois McGarvey celebrated her 110th birthday on Saturday.
McGarvey was born in Niles, Michigan, in 1916, before the United States entered World War I. Television did not yet exist, and the Model T was just rolling off factory lines.
“We didn’t know if she’d make this far or not but we’re excited for her and we’re excited to celebrate her special day,” said Kathleen McGarvey Perkins, her daughter.
