Brandon Ely, a Detroit police officer, is charged with fourth-degree child abuse (up to one year in jail), while Rabab Al Zayad faces an unsafe-storage charge (up to 93 days). Both pleaded not guilty and received $10,000 unsecured personal bonds. Judge Barone barred them from possessing firearms and from returning to the daycare.
