A woman who left her dog in a hot car in near-100-degree heat at MGM Grand Detroit told a judge she had only gone inside for food, then admitted she also gambled. A city prosecutor said the dog was inside the vehicle for about nine hours.
Jennifer Hsien Lee pleaded guilty Friday in Detroit’s 36th District Court to a dog abandonment charge stemming from the July 2, 2026 incident. Detroit’s recorded high that day was 96 degrees.
