(WWJ) — A Dearborn man who has made a career as an Elvis impersonator has been arrested in Pennsylvania after being found at a motel with a 16-year-old runaway girl, according to reports.
Matthew James Chantelois is facing charges of interference of a child, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to a minor after his arrest in Erie County, Pennsylvania last week, according to a report from YourErie.com .
Around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, Pennsylvania State Police were notified by New York State Police that the runaway girl was believed to be in the care of Chantelois, 45, according to the report. NYSP investigators were able to ping Chantelois’ cell phone near a Motel 6 on Schultz Road in Summit Township, Penn., just south of the city of Erie.
Authorities then matched his vehicle from a provided description at the motel’s parking lot and found both Chantelois and the 16-year-old girl, according to YourErie. Both were taken in for questioning.
Chantelois was arraigned and remained in Erie County Prison on a $100,000 cash bond, as of last Thursday.
