Guns, drugs seized from child’s dresser; 2 arrested

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A pursuit spanning multiple counties resulted in police finding guns and drugs in a child’s dresser drawer in a home.

Michigan State Police detectives were watching two suspects as they were traveling from Detroit. On I-94, detectives attempted to stop the vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old Ypsilanti resident with a 32-year-old passenger, but they sped off.

The suspects were later located in Ypsilanti Township. The vehicle they were in crashed into a garage and the two were seen by a Washtenaw County Sheriff Deputy “forcibly entering” a home nearby.

Police searched the home, with the assistance of a K-9 and located the two hiding in a bedroom. Both had outstanding felony warrants.

Further investigation revealed the home they’d been apprehended at was the home of the mother of one of the suspect’s children.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for that home and here’s what they found.

From a dresser drawer in a child’s bedroom:

  • 750 grams of cocaine
  • 20 grams of crack cocaine
  • 6 grams of fentanyl
  • A Glock 9 mm handgun
  • A Glock 19X 9mm pistol
