Though struggling to contain gun violence has been a massive problem in the United States, John Salley shared a somewhat controversial perspective in a recent interview with DJ Vlad . The four-time NBA Champ openly acknowledged feeling a heightened sense of security during his tenure with the Detroit Pistons simply by carrying a gun. That allowed him to attain greater mental ease, knowing he was prepared to face any potential adverse situation.
“When I was in Detroit, I always had a gun. Even though I was with my brothers and we had security, I always carried my gun. I’m not saying that I was right but I was ready. When I got to Miami, my wife then got a concealed weapon license, she like, ‘I’ll carry one,'” Salley said. ” So, for some people, we’re Americans, we feel safer with guns. This is the culture – People feel safer with guns… I didn’t carry a gun in Los Angeles. It’s better to be a Warrior in a garden than a gardener in the war. ”
