In a perplexing case that has gripped Detroit, Michigan, the disappearance of 19-year-old Jasmine Moody remains a haunting enigma. Last seen on December 4, 2014, her sudden vanishing has left a trail of unanswered questions and a family in desperate search for answers.
Originally from Arkansas and a freshman at Texas Woman’s University, Jasmine was an ROTC member, training for the US Armed Forces. Her life took an unexpected turn when she flew to Detroit to visit Brittany Gurley, a friend she met online, for Thanksgiving. Scheduled to return for her classes on December 7, she never made it back.

Jasmine’s disappearance followed a heated argument with Brittany over online posts on December 4. Leaving Brittany’s house around 7:30 pm, Jasmine stepped into the cold Detroit night without her personal belongings. This was the last time anyone saw her. The Gurleys, after a brief search, reported her missing to the Detroit Police.
The investigation uncovered more questions than answers. Jasmine’s belongings, including her cell phone and ID, were left at the Gurley residence. Despite efforts by the Detroit Police and Michigan State Police Crime Lab, no significant leads or evidence emerged. Ground searches around the house yielded nothing, and even a private investigator, hired by Jasmine’s family, couldn’t find solid leads.
