Michigan EV battery research project lands $60M federal grant

A collaborative electric vehicle battery project from Ford Motor Co., General Motors and Stellantis is getting federal funding. The U.S. Department of Energy recently awarded a $60 million grant to U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium LCC for research and development of electric vehicle batteries and charging systems. The Southfield-based project is focused on developing technologies that will improve the performance and manufacturing of batteries.
