TROY (WWJ) — An Oakland County woman is facing charges after she was pulled over for allegedly driving drunk, and lying about it.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, Troy Police said they made a traffic stop on the driver of a 2017 Cadillac ATS for multiple traffic violations, at Livernois and Wendelton Street.
When officers spoke with the driver, a 33-year-old woman from Troy, they noticed “her eyes were watery and bloodshot and there was an odor of intoxicants emanating from the vehicle,” according to the police report.
The woman told the officers she was on her way home from the club where she works and had no alcohol to drink before driving.
However, police said the woman “performed poorly” on some field sobriety evaluations.
The driver refused to take a breathalyzer test, police said, and was arrested.
At the Troy Police lock-up, police said the woman agreed to take a Chemical Breath Test with results of .141% and .134% BAC. The legal limit to drive in Michigan is .08%.
