Michigan woman, 63, sentenced for stealing $470K from veterans affairs, state treasury

WAYNE COUNTY, MI – A Michigan woman has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for stealing $470,000 from state and federal agencies, authorities announced. Sophia Quill, 63, of Westland, created aliases and fraudulent documents to make it appear that she was the heir to benefits and unclaimed property from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Michigan Department of Treasury, respectively, according to a news release from the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
