$10K reward offered for tips in murder of Sterling Heights man who tried to stop men from stealing his car in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) — A $10,000 cash reward is up for grabs as the investigation into the murder of a Macomb County man on Detroit’s west side continues.

Thaair Dado of Sterling Heights was working his part time job at All Stars Beverage Liquor Store on West Chicago between Meyers and Wyoming on Saturday, Feb. 3 when he noticed multiple men trying to break into his car.

Dado, 43, confronted the men and tried to stop them, but at least one suspect opened fire, hitting Dado.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the men fled the scene in Dado’s car, a red Hyundai with silver rims and a missing front bumper.

On Thursday Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced it is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for tips in the case that lead to an arrest.

Anyone who knows something about Dado’s murder is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. All Crime Stoppers tipsters will remain 100% anonymous. Crime Stoppers pays rewards when an arrest is made and does not wait for a conviction.
