Pedestrian fatally struck while crossing Groesbeck Highway in Macomb County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – One woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township early Tuesday morning, police confirmed.

According to the Clinton Township Police Department, a woman was hit by a car around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 13 along Groesbeck Highway, just north of 16 Mile Road.

Police did state the woman was trying to cross the road when she was struck. The victim’s identity was not released.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did stop at the scene and is cooperating with police, the department added.

In a 7:30 a.m. update, a Clinton Township Police Sergeant told WWJ that neither alcohol or drugs are considered factors in the crash.

An investigation into the fatal incident remains on going. No other details were made public.
