TROY (WWJ) — As Metro Detroit experiences a “second winter” of sorts this Thursday, officials are out with a reminder to slow down on the roads.
The Road Commission for Oakland County on Thursday shared a video of a salt truck that was involved in a crash with a pickup truck on I-75 near Square Lake Road in Troy.
It’s not exactly clear when the crash happened, but dash camera footage shows a silver pickup truck losing control on the slushy freeway and spinning out in front of the country truck.
The salt truck slammed into the pickup as it hit the guard rail, then came to a rest.
“Slow down and do not crowd our trucks. Incident on I-75 north of Square Lake Road. SMH,” said a post on the RCOC’s X page.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Some areas around Metro Detroit saw as much as two inches of snow Thursday as a clipper system moved across the area.
