DETROIT (WWJ) — Detroit police officials are asking for the public’s help identifying a man they’re calling a person of interest in a shooting that left a teenager hospitalized.
It happened around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 in the area of Warren Avenue and Cope Street, between Street and Dickerson Avenue, according to Detroit police.
During some type of altercation in the area, a suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting a 16-year-old boy.
The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. His condition was not disclosed.
No other details surrounding the shooting have been released, including a possible motive. It was not clear how many shots were fired or how many people were involved. No description of a suspect has been disclosed.
Police on Thursday released a photo of a young man wearing a green hooded Adidas sweatshirt and ripped jeans. Authorities say detectives would like to speak to him as he was in the area at the time of the shooting and may know something about the suspect.
