WATCH: Here’s what the Lions are getting in Alabama CB Terrion Arnold, who was fired up to be ‘home’ in Detroit

DETROIT — Last week Lions GM Brad Holmes joked that he’d make a public apology if he ended up trading down from the 29th overall pick, a move that would have disappointed many fans in the record-breaking crowd downtown.

Come Thursday night, he did make a trade. But in the other direction. Detroit traded up with the Cowboys, taking Alabama CB Terrion Arnold at No. 24 overall .

Lions fans — packing Cadillac Square, Campus Martius Park and beyond — roared when Detroit made the trade, and got even louder when Arnold took the stage waving his arms in his flashy pink suit.

NFL Network’s Draft Daniel Jeremiah described Arnold as “the best corner in the draft,” comparing him to Chicago’s Jaylon Johnson due to his “fluid and smooth” play style.

“Very physical, shows up in coverage, as well as against the run when he’s a force defender. Some of these guys pick and choose their buffet tacklers. Not Terrion Arnold, he wants to get in the action every single time.”
