Golf Fans Bothered By Personal Question Asked to 15-Year-Old Miles Russell After PGA Tour Debut

While many other similarly aged teenagers continued to relax on their summer vacations, 15-year-old golfer Miles Russell spent his June preparing to make his PGA Tour debut at this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club.

Russell, who admitted to feeling some nerves over his opening tee shot on Thursday, fired a first-round 74 (2-over par) in his first-ever PGA Tour start.

Following the opening 18 holes, Russell took questions from reporters and handled the post-round interview with complete class. Unfortunately, though, his short time spent with the media saw him answer a few questions that some in the golf world felt were slightly unusual.

“You’re the only player in the field that, if you click on your profile on the PGA Tour app, height and weight is not listed,” Russell was told after Thursday’s round. “What is your current height and weight?”

After answering that question, Russell was met with another one.

“What’s that waist size?”

Golf fans are struggling to understand why Russell was asked such a personal question after his round.
