FARMINGTON HILLS – The Farmington Hills Police Department was recognized for a pioneering emphasis on mental health training among Michigan police departments. All of the department’s officers, cadets and dispatchers took place in a two-day mental health training last year in hopes of better responding to mental health-related calls – a first for Michigan police departments.
