30-year-old Southfield man hit by car while running across I-96 in Livonia

LIVONIA (WWJ) A Southfield man was hit by a car while running across I-96 in Livonia.

In a statement on X , Michigan State Police Second District said the Detroit Regional Communication Center received calls of a crash involving a pedestrian near Merriman on Saturday (10/26) around 4:30 p.m.

Investigation revealed the man, 30, was attempting to run across the freeway when the car struck him. First responders with Livonia EMS administered CPR to him at the scene and rushed him to a local hospital. He regained a pulse at the hospital and is receiving treatment.

His current condition has not been released.

State Police said the driver of the car stopped and cooperated with investigators. The pedestrian’s family was notified.
