Man shoots ex’s new boyfriend in Eastpointe while disguised as a woman: police

EASTPOINTE (WWJ) A man disguised himself as a woman and shot his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in Eastpointe, police said.

Eastpointe Police said their officers were called to a commercial area on 9 Mile near Gratiot for a shooting complaint on Friday, January 3rd around 3:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Police learned the victim was in a relationship with the suspect’s ex-girlfriend and the suspect was “highly unhappy about it,” investigators said.

The suspect approached the victim disguised as a woman—in a wig, tight pink pants, and a black jacket. They spoke for a while.

According to police; the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a single shot, striking the victim in the chest.

The suspect ran away “out of the view of security cameras”, police said.

Eastpointe Police Detective Bureau and Special Investigation Unit identified the suspect and his location. They executed a search warrant on his home on Albion—in the area of McNichols and Hoover—on Detroit’s east side.
