Pedestrian hit and killed in 2-vehicle crash on Woodward Ave. in Midtown Detroit: police

DETROIT (WWJ) — There’s a significant police presence at an intersection in Detroit’s Midtown, late Wednesday morning, where a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle.

According to Detroit Police, the fatal crash happened before 9:30 a.m. at Woodward Ave. and Warren, near Wayne State University.

Police said there were two vehicles involved in the incident. One vehicle hit a pedestrian, who was fatally injured.

The victim is a man who has not yet been identified, police said.

Circumstances leading up the the crash are still unknown, as the investigation continues at the scene.

No further details were released.

The intersection was closed as of 10:15 a.m. Drivers should avoid the area.
