DETROIT (WWJ) — An Uber driver is recovering after being shot Monday night on Detroit’s west side.
According to Detroit Police, the driver was in the area of Curtis and Southfield, north of Outer Drive, just before 9 p.m. on Jan. 6.
Investigators said an unknown suspect pulled up to the victim’s car, and started firing shots.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries, according to a Detroit Police spokesman.
The driver was reported in stable condition.
Police did not say whether it’s believed this was a random shooting, although reports said the gunfire was apparently unprovoked.
No arrests have been announced in the case, as the investigation continues.
