Arctic Blast to Bring Subzero Temps and -15° Wind Chills to Michigan Next Week

Detroit, MI – An arctic air mass will plunge southeast Michigan into a deep freeze early next week. Temperatures are expected to fall below zero, with wind chills dropping to or below -15° from Monday through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, the coldest temperatures will occur Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. High temperatures will remain in the single digits, while overnight lows will dip into the negatives. The wind chill could create dangerous conditions, increasing the risk of frostbite.

Lake-effect snow showers are also possible during the early part of the week, potentially impacting commutes. The National Weather Service has expressed high confidence in this frigid pattern.
