In the first half of 2025, the Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge will have a decreased speed limit, speed bumps and even a complete closure for eight weeks to make way for repair work.
The speed limit on the Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge will be lowered from 35 mph to 25 mph on both sides of the bridge, according to a press release from Wayne County. Speed bumps will be installed along the roads leading to both bridge entrances to reduce how fast vehicles come upon the span. Additionally, regular speed checks will be conducted to ensure compliance with the new speed limit.
These temporary measures will remain in place until the start of the bridge repair work, which is expected to begin in the spring months. The bridge will be closed during repairs, which are anticipated to last approximately eight weeks…
