AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A pair from Detroit were arrested as part of a counterfeit money business and a police chase. It took place around 7 p.m. on Jan. 15 in Montgomery County.
Amsterdam police called in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to help in the pursuit of a Jeep on the Thruway at the Fultonville exit. Police said the car was believed to have been involved in counterfeit money being used in the city of Amsterdam.
The Jeep intentionally struck a law enforcement vehicle twice before losing control and hitting a guardrail, police said.

Two people fled into a wooded area while the driver and another passenger remained in the vehicle. The driver and two passengers were quickly taken into custody. The fourth subject, identified as 24-year-old Javon Ragland, of Detroit, was taken into custody about an hour later…
