Demolition day is getting closer for the long-abandoned Southwest Detroit Hospital.
The Detroit City FC professional soccer club gained an initial approval Wednesday for its request for a public subsidy to help demolish the blighted hospital at 2401 20th St., near the city’s Corktown and Mexicantown neighborhoods, and where the organization hopes to then build a new stadium.
