These storms, becoming south southwest after midnight, could bring wind gusts as high as 18 mph and new rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except in thunderstorms where higher amounts are possible.
Looking ahead to Friday, the National Weather Service predicts sunshine will return with a high near 85 and winds shifting to the west southwest at 8 to 13 mph. Gusts could reach up to 20 mph, providing some relief from the heat.
