Shot and paralyzed as a child, Detroit teen celebrates prom with police escort

India Williams, who was paralyzed by a stray bullet as a child, was sent off to her prom at Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School Thursday with support from the Detroit Police Department, who has been by her side since the reckless act of gun violence in 2014.

18-year-old India Williams had her entire family stop by her home in Eastpointe to send her off, along with a few notable members of the Detroit Police Department.
