Dry, hot and hazy: Warm air to replace Metro Detroit’s chilly weather

As wildfire smoke from Canada drifted away from Southeast Michigan, it seems the warm air followed suit.

Although Metro Detroit’s average high for the final day of May is 75 degrees, Saturday’s highs were only in the lower- to mid-60s.

Under mostly clear skies, overnight temps will drop into the 30s in some communities. Prepare for lows in the mid- to upper-30s in Ann Arbor, Howell, Grand Blanc, Lapeer, Bruce Township, and Sandusky. It will be in the lower-40s in Monroe, Taylor, Royal Oak, Fraser, and New Baltimore. Winds will be northwesterly at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday will bring warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine to Southeast Michigan as the Detroit Grand Prix comes to a close. Temperatures will peak around 70 degrees in the afternoon. It will be a couple of degrees above 70 in Detroit and slightly below 70 in the Thumb. Winds will be out of the northwest at 6 to 12 mph…
