DETROIT (WWJ) — A historic church went up in flames, early Tuesday morning on Detroit’s west side.
Firefighters responded in the pre-dawn hours to St. Agnes Church, on Rosa Parks near W. Grand Boulevard, but the fire had already caused significant damage.
WWJ Newsradio 950’s Jon Hewett reported flames could be seen shooting out of the roof of the abandoned building, which was sold nearly 20 years ago. “The south side of the building was completely engulfed in flames,” Hewett said, “and by morning light the damage becoming more visible after crews had left.”…
