Royal Oak Woman Charged with First-Degree Murder in Mother’s Death

A woman from Royal Oak, Michigan, is facing first-degree murder charges after her mother died from a life-threatening neck wound. The incident occurred on June 4, when police were called to an apartment on Crooks Road after a report of a daughter in the midst of a mental health crisis. Leslie Ann Cataldo, 66, made the distress call concerning her 45-year-old daughter, as reported by CBS News Detroit.

Upon their arrival, Royal Oak police found signs of a struggle and Leslie Cataldo unresponsive on the floor. She was taken to Corewell Beaumont Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, as noted by Macomb Daily. The daughter, Jennifer Cataldo, was taken into custody at the apartment without incident.

According to the police department’s report obtained by CandG News, officers arrived approximately 10 minutes after the distress call and found evidence that a violent incident had taken place.
