Rouge Park’s Centennial Celebration: Free Festival Honors 100 Years of Memories in Detroit

Rouge Park, a Detroit staple and Michigan’s largest urban park, is marking a century of greenery and community memories with a free, three-day blowout starting today. According to the City of Detroit, the Friends of Rouge Park organization has been hustling to put together a weekend filled with live tunes, activities for the kiddos, and a community resource fair, plus a special shindig to collect some cash for the park’s bright future.

Kicking off the festivities is a ticketed soiree tonight at the park from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests can expect to quickly enjoy live jazz, nosh on local grub, and sip on some drinks while soaking up stories that trace the park’s journey, as detailed by the City of Detroit.
