‘Too Many Scars to Count’: Michigan Foster Parents Accused of Torturing Boy, 9, to Death

Two Michigan foster parents have been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly subjecting a 9-year-old boy in their care to prolonged abuse and neglect, leading to his death from untreated pneumonia. Authorities say the child was found bruised “from head to toe,” with “too many scars to count.”

Sherman Devaughn Jones, 46, and Sampaguita L. Jones, 41, were arrested and charged with felony murder, torture, and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of the young boy, identified only as Owen.
