Metro Detroit is getting a brief break from the hot weather, but the heat will return with a vengeance.
Some people might even consider Sunday night’s temperatures to be chilly. Lows will be in the mid-50s in the Thumb and around 60 degrees in Farmington Hills, Royal Oak, Shelby Township, Roseville, Westland, Detroit, and Monroe. Clouds will decrease, and skies will become mostly clear overnight.
Monday
Monday will be mostly sunny and cooler than normal. While the average high for mid- and late-July is 84 degrees, highs will be in the 70s to around 80 degrees. Expect highs in the lower 70s in Sandusky and Port Huron, mid-80s in Lapeer and Romeo, and around 80 degrees in Ann Arbor and Livonia. Low humidity will make outdoor activities comfortable in Metro Detroit. Northeasterly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday
Tuesday will be great for a visit to the park or hiking trail. Under mostly sunny skies, afternoon temperatures will peak in the lower-80s. Nighttime skies will be mostly clear, with lows in the lower- to mid-60s.
Wednesday
Wednesday will see rising heat and humidity. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will peak around 90 degrees. The feel-like temperatures will be in the mid-90s.
Thursday
Thursday will be hot and mostly sunny. An isolated rain shower will be possible. The humidity will combine with the hot air and make it feel like 100 degrees.
Friday
Friday will see showers and thunderstorms chances from morning until evening. Highs will be around 90 degrees.
Three consecutive days of at least 90 degrees would be considered a heat wave…
