1 dead, 1 hurt on I-96 when teen driving 100+ mph swerves, causing 3-car crash, police say

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – One person was killed in a three-car crash on I-96 Wednesday morning, police said.

At about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, troopers responded to I-96 at Kensington Road in Brighton Township after receiving a report of a traffic crash involving three vehicles.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 19-year-old man from Detroit was traveling on westbound I-96 in a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu at a high rate of speed, estimated to exceed 100 mph, according to a release from Michigan State Police…
