LANSING — A driver testing business started by a retired Detroit firefighter sued Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and her top officials on Tuesday, July 29, alleging they unlawfully put the company out of business over bogus infractions and without due process.
Jonny’s Road Testing, a company owned by retired Detroit firefighter Jonathan Grimm that lists addresses in Macomb County, is seeking unspecified monetary damages and a judge’s declaration that Benson and her officials violated the company’s constitutional rights when it terminated its authorization to give driver’s license tests on July 3, 2024, following a March 6, 2024 suspension.
