What police say caused gravel hauler crash that shut down I-75 for 5 hours

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Police said the driver of a gravel hauler caused a crash on I-75, shutting down the freeway for more than five hours.

The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, in the northbound lanes of I-75 near I-94 in Wayne County.

Michigan State Police said a 32-year-old man from Sebewaing, Michigan, was driving a gravel hauler with a double trailer. He couldn’t stop in a safe distance behind a car and rear-ended it, according to police…
