Detroit man charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in ‘senseless’ summer pool party quadruple stabbing

DETROIT (WWJ) — A Detroit man faces murder and attempted murder charges after a fun summer gathering on the city’s east side turned into a tragedy.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced the charges against 31-year-old Daiwan Lemane Hopson on Tuesday, in connection with the deadly attack at a pool party on the night of Aug. 9.

Detroit police said Hopson and got into an argument with a 40-year old man and ended up stabbing the victim several times in the backyard of a home in the 18500 block of Fleming Street, near 7 Mile Rd…
